The timeframe depends on which services you use. If you provide a print-ready PDF file and handle the preparation yourself, your book can be available in our bookshop within 24–48 hours after upload and approval. Printing a single copy on order takes 1–3 days, plus delivery time — via Econt (to an address or an office) or BoxNow (parcel locker) within Bulgaria, and Bulgarian Post for international orders.

This is the order in which things happen:
  1. You pay for the package (card, Revolut, PayPal, ePay or bank transfer). As soon as the payment is confirmed you receive an e-mail with a link to the publishing form for your book.
  2. You fill in the form and upload your files — book details (title, author or pen name, blurb, genre, format and binding), the manuscript, the cover materials and the signed authorship declaration. The declaration can be uploaded at any point before publication — it does not have to be the first step.
  3. Proofreading or editing of the text, if you chose it. You get the file back for approval.
  4. Typesetting (prepress) — we turn the approved text into a print-ready layout and send it to you for review.
  5. Cover — we prepare yours or design a new one, with a spine calculated from the exact page count, and add the barcode.
  6. ISBN and legal deposit — we register the number in your name and deposit the mandatory copies with the National Library.
  7. Your approval and publication — once you say yes, the book goes live in our bookshop and you can order author copies.
You do not have to keep track of all this: the publishing form has a „Where your book is right now“ panel and a „What comes next“ list, so you can always see how far the book has got and which steps are handled by us and which by you.

Yes, but not significantly. Each service has its own delivery time:
  • Editing — 7–14 days depending on volume
  • Cover design — 5–10 days
  • Prepress preparation — 3–7 days
  • ISBN registration — up to 5 business days
  • Legal deposit to the National Library — handled automatically by us
With a full package, it usually takes 3–6 weeks from manuscript submission to finished book. However, services can run in parallel, so the actual wait is shorter.

As soon as the book is ready for print, you can order an author copy. Printing takes 1–3 days, plus courier delivery time (usually 1–2 days within the country).

For beginner authors we recommend our Debut package, because it includes all the key services needed for a quality edition — editing, cover, prepress, ISBN and deposit to the National Library — so you don't have to wonder what else you might need. If you prefer to try for free first, you can publish your book with the Free package and add individual services later. We are always available for a free consultation — write to us via the online chat on the site and we'll guide you to the best solution for your manuscript.

We offer several packages that differ in the scope of included services — from basic (ISBN and publishing only) to full (with editing, cover, prepress, marketing). You can see a detailed comparison on the Our Packages page.

Yes. Each service can be purchased separately at any time — before, during or after publishing the book. This gives you maximum flexibility.

Yes — you decide how much the text is touched at all:
  • Proofreading — only spelling, grammar and punctuation mistakes are corrected. Your style, wording and meaning stay exactly as they are.
  • Editing — the editor also works on style, sentences and structure.
If you do not want anyone interfering with the text itself, choose proofreading only, or skip it entirely — the file then goes straight to typesetting.

The package price does not change if you do not use one of the included services — a package has a fixed price and is not recalculated downwards. The opposite is also worth knowing: the price of editing depends on the word count of the manuscript, and if it exceeds the budget set in the package, you either pay the difference or decline the service.

Publishing with us is completely free if you provide a print-ready PDF file and a prepared cover design. Printing is done only on order (print-on-demand), so you have no costs for print runs or storage. The packages are designed for authors who want professional help with editing, design and preparation.

Payment for packages is one-time per book. For individual services (editing, cover, etc.) payment is usually made in advance when requesting the service. Printing of individual copies is paid for with each order.

We accept multiple payment methods for your convenience:

Yes, the price is under your control. The final price in the bookstore is formed as follows:

Production cost (printing) + your author profit + VAT = final price

The production cost is calculated automatically from the format, page count, paper type and binding — you see it before you publish. On top of it you set your profit from your profile: either as a fixed amount per copy, or by entering the final price you want, in which case the profit left for you is calculated automatically. You can change your profit at any time and it applies to all subsequent orders.

You receive exactly the profit you set for the book — we take no commission out of it. From the final price paid by the buyer, only the following is deducted:
  • the production cost (printing and materials) — this stays with us;
  • VAT — paid to the state;
  • shipping, which the buyer pays separately.
The only deduction from your profit is the income tax withheld at payout, which we are legally required to declare: for Bulgarian citizens — 10% of 60% of the amount (i.e. 6% effectively; on €100 profit, €6 is withheld), and for non-Bulgarian citizens — 10% of the full amount. The full terms are described in our Terms of Use.

Profit payout is possible when the accumulated amount reaches a minimum of €10. To receive it, go to the “Wallet” section of your profile, choose your payment method and press the “Payout request” button. After a request is submitted we transfer the amount within 15 business days, and you receive an e-mail once the payment has gone through. There is no periodic automatic transfer — payouts happen on your request, as often as you like, as long as the minimum has been reached.

Through your author profile, in real time. As soon as we receive payment for an order, the sale appears in your account — you see the copies sold per book (print and eBooks), your accumulated profit and the payout history in the “Wallet” section. There is no need to wait for periodic reports — the data is always current and available 24/7.

No. There is no publishing fee, no subscription and no monthly or annual maintenance fee for keeping your book in our online bookstore. Your book stays in the catalogue indefinitely at no cost. You only pay if you choose additional services (editing, cover, prepress, ISBN, marketing) or order author copies for yourself.

At izdavam.com you determine your own profit rather than receiving a fixed percentage. This is a major advantage — your profit depends solely on the final price you choose for your book relative to printing costs.

We accept a ready PDF file for printing — this is the standard that ensures the best quality of the finished book. You can download detailed file preparation instructions from the "Prepare Your Files" PDF document.

We accept Word (.docx) only when you have purchased a service in which we work with the original file — editing, formatting, prepress or a full package.

  • Minimum for softcover: 16 pages
  • Minimum for hardcover: approximately 58 pages
  • Maximum: 600 pages (depends on paper type and book format)
The exact limits are defined on the publishing page and are validated automatically when you upload a file.

Yes. The cover must match the chosen book format (A5, A4, etc.) and include a precisely calculated spine based on the number of pages and paper type. You'll find detailed instructions with examples of bleed allowances, safe zones and specifications in our file preparation PDF document.

If you have no experience preparing a cover, we recommend purchasing the "Cover Design" service.

Send it to us — we review it first and tell you whether it can be used. In most cases you will not have to do anything: we re-prepare the file for print — scale it to the chosen format, calculate the spine from the exact page count and paper type, add bleed for trimming and place the barcode. We do not change your design, your text or your image.

There are only two cases where we need something from you:
  • Resolution too low — the image has too few pixels for print (quality printing needs about 300 dpi at the real cover size). Re-preparing does not help here — we need the original in a larger size.
  • Important text or graphics right at the edge, on the spine, or in the bottom corners of the back cover, where the barcode and the logo go. We will then tell you what to move, or suggest a minimal rework.
If you bought a package that includes cover design, we can also recreate your cover — same text, same image, but in the correct size and quality for print.

The typesetting (prepress) is done by our specialist, and you set how it should look. The publishing form has a field for your wishes, and for more specific cases the operator contacts you by e-mail or through the chat to agree on the details — font and size, line spacing, page numbering, placement of headings and, of course, every chapter starting on a new page. Before printing you receive the finished layout for review and can ask for corrections.

About the differences in Word: it is perfectly normal for the same .docx to look different in different versions of Word and on different computers — because of fonts, margins and print settings. That is exactly why the final print file is a PDF — there the layout is „frozen“ and looks the same everywhere. Do not try to adjust page breaks by hand in Word; just write to us what you want (for example „new chapter = new page“) and we enforce it with styles, so it holds.

Yes. We offer the ISBN and COBISS registration service for €61.36. The ISBN is registered in your own name and under your own publisher code — you are officially the publisher of the book, not izdavam.com, and your name is entered in the national register of published books. The service also includes the mandatory legal deposit of copies at the National Library — we handle it for you. Turnaround: 5–10 business days.

The barcode (EAN-13) is generated automatically from the ISBN — it is added to the back cover during file preparation, at no extra charge. The imprint/copyright page is also generated automatically (see the question about the imprint page below).

The ISBN is included in the price of our paid packages (Debut, Laureate). If you already have your own ISBN, we use it and you do not pay for the service. Publishing without an ISBN is also possible — the book is sold in our bookstore but cannot be distributed through other retail networks.

No redesign is needed, but it is important to leave free space for two elements on the back cover: the barcode (EAN-13) — bottom right, and the platform logo — bottom left. When you upload your back cover while publishing the book, we automatically generate the barcode from the ISBN and place both elements in those positions. So make sure there is no important text or graphics in the bottom-right and bottom-left corners. You'll find example templates with the correct layout in our file preparation PDF document. If you used our "Cover Design" service or a package that includes it, we take care of this for you.

Yes, and at no extra charge. We prepare the imprint (copyright) page and place it where it belongs, at the front of the book. It contains:
  • the author and the “© Author – publisher” line with your name;
  • the book title, the edition number, city and year;
  • “All rights reserved”;
  • credits for the editor, cover design, illustrations and layout — as far as you have provided them;
  • the ISBN;
  • the standard copyright protection notice.
If your manuscript already has its own imprint page, you can keep it — in that case we do not prepare a new one.

Yes. Our platform supports publications in Bulgarian, English, Romanian and Macedonian, as well as multilingual editions. You just need to provide a ready file with your book.

Yes. We print full-color illustrated books, including children's books. If you don't have ready illustrations, we offer the AI Illustrations service, which helps you create professional illustrations for your book. Color printing has a higher per-page price, which is reflected automatically in the calculator.

We do not accept content that:
  • violates the legislation of the Republic of Bulgaria
  • contains hate speech, incitement to violence or discrimination
  • is pornographic or contains sexual content involving minors
  • constitutes plagiarism or infringes third-party copyright
  • incites terrorism or other crimes
We reserve the right to refuse publishing a book that does not meet our values.

No separate paper contract is signed. The role of the contract is played by our Terms of Use, which you accept at registration — they describe all rights and obligations of both parties, how profit is formed and paid out, and the termination conditions. You can read them in full in advance, before creating an account.

The agreement is not exclusive — the copyright stays with you and you are free to sell your own copies yourself. The only restriction is that the edition cannot be withdrawn from sale for 1 year after its publication; after that, withdrawal takes 3 months’ written notice by e-mail. Membership itself can be terminated with a written notice, effective within 30 business days.

As an author you have control over your book, but withdrawal is possible under one of the following conditions (per our Terms of Service):
  1. At least one year has passed since the official publication of the book, or
  2. You have paid back the value of the free voucher we provided at the start of the publishing process.
Once one of the two conditions is met, the book stops being offered for new purchases.

Readers who have already purchased the eBook retain access to their purchased copy. After withdrawal, the book stops being offered for new purchases.

Yes. When registering as an author, you can specify the name under which you wish to be published. For questions regarding ISBN and legal deposit to the National Library — contact us via the online chat.

Yes. Several authors can be listed on the cover and in the catalog. The profit distribution is arranged among the co-authors — the profit is transferred to the profile of one of the authors, even when there are several.

Yes. Every published book is automatically added to our online bookstore and offered for sale — both in print (print on demand) and as an eBook, if you have prepared a digital version. The book gets its own page with cover, description and price, and readers find it via filters by genre, author, price and language.

No. We do not distribute books that were not printed by us — our bookshop only sells titles produced through our platform.
If your book was published by another publisher, it depends on the contract and the rights you hold with them. If the book has an ISBN, it also matters who issued that ISBN — if it belongs to another publisher, we cannot publish the book with us.
If you hold all the rights, you can publish it with us again with a print-ready file. Write to us in the chat about your specific case and we will tell you whether it is possible.

"Print on demand" means your book is printed only when someone orders it. This saves you costs for print runs, storage and unsold copies. Your book is always available online, and we take care of each individual print.

No. You can print even a single copy — for yourself, for a friend, or for a reader who has ordered it. This is the main advantage of our model.

Yes. We do not require exclusive rights and we do not restrict you. As an author you order as many copies as you like at production price (with the author discount) and sell them freely — in person, at launches and events, through social media or directly to people you know. The income from those sales is entirely yours and does not go through us.

The only thing that goes through the platform is distribution to our own bookstore and to partner channels (Ozone.bg, eMAG.bg), because there the book is printed and shipped by us.

In addition to our own bookshop, we have partnerships with leading online stores:
  • Ozone.bg — for electronic books (eBooks)
  • eMAG.bg — for printed books
Important: partner distribution is not guaranteed for every book — it depends on the conditions and selection of each partner. For more information on whether your book can be included, contact us via the online chat.

You do not have to do anything extra — you do not register with Ozone or eMAG and you do not upload files there. Once the book is published with us, we feed it to the partner channels; orders from there are printed and shipped by us and appear in your profile like any other sale.

Yes, we offer two specialized marketing services:In addition to paid options, all books in our bookshop are presented to our growing audience of readers.

Your book is automatically added to our online bookshop with filters by genre, author, price and language. In addition:
  • It may appear on eMAG.bg (for printed books) and Ozone.bg (for eBooks), subject to partner conditions
  • Your author profile serves as a personal promotion page
  • You can share the book link on social media yourself

Yes. As an author you have the right to order as many copies as you want at print price, with a special author discount:
  • 5% discount with the Debut package
  • 10% discount with the Laureate package
This is convenient for presentations, gifts or live sales.

A quantity discount is added on larger print runs, but it applies to softcover only — hardcover books are bound by hand and are ordered at full price. The Debut and Laureate package discount applies to hardcover books as well.

Important: we do not keep a warehouse of author print runs. If you order, say, 30 or 50 copies, all of them are printed and shipped to you at the address you provide. Books for customer orders from our bookstore are printed separately, per order (print on demand), so you never need to set copies aside in advance.

Yes. You can upload a new version of the file at any time from your profile, without any extra fee. The new version applies to all future orders. Copies already printed and delivered are naturally not changed.

Replacing the file is free — you can do it an unlimited number of times from your profile. In case the changes are substantial, we will decide whether a new ISBN is required and will inform you in advance.
